AB: Teams of students at Somerville High School, an urban school near Boston, are fulfilling their Science Fair requirement by analyzing a wide variety of Martian data sets. Their projects include searching for wind streak patterns, computing regional crater densities and creating geological sketch maps. This paper reviews how students prepared for the projects as well as the details of each project. It also describes GeoVirgil, the software tool students use. With it, students can integrate and visualize a variety of planetary data sets in both 2D and 3D.
