Seasonal gravity field variations are mostly induced by changes in continental water storage, and to a smaller extent,
oceanic circulation. These gravity variations are now monitored, with unprecedented spatial and temporal resolution from the
GRACE mission. We compare different GRACE solutions, (e.g. spherical harmonics or mascons) to several modern hydrological
(LaDworld, GLDAS and NLDAS, ECMWF, etc.) and operational ocean (ECCO, MERCATOR, etc.) models.
We quantify the possibility of capturing small and regional wavelength features present in these hydrological and oceanic
models. We are also comparing the (dis-)agreement between GRACE recovered gravity field and the hydrological and oceanic
models, to the (dis-)agreement between other ground geodetic observations (VLBI, GPS, superconducting gravimeter) and the
computed loading from the same models.
