At present, 22 gravity fields have been retrieved from the GRACE data. We use a method based on the principal component
decomposition and singular spectrum analysis, in order to extract the low frequency part of the signal (period larger than
one year) from the data, and we compare the interannual geodetic signal with its likely geophysical causes, obtained from
ocean, hydrosphere and atmosphere model. In particular, the relation with the quasi-biennial part of the El-Ni¤o Southern
Oscillation (and the associated Southern Oscillation Index (SOI)) will be discussed.
