We utilize the Permanent Scatterer (PS) technique, using data from ERS1/2 satellites, to map the interseismic velocity field
across the Gazikoy-Saros (Ganos) segment of the North Anatolia Fault (NAF), northwestern Turkey. In this way, we have
isolated a 50 km wide region of crustal deformation across the fault, in an area where the use of InSAR becomes unfeasible
due to large amounts of decorrelation noise. The phase measurements at permanent scatterers are then integrated with geologic
and seismological observations to constrain a two-dimensional viscoelastic coupling model for this important strand of the
NAF.
