AbstractϤThe effects of temperature and pressure, especially temperature on atmospheric absorption coefficients and then
cooling rate are discussed in detail in this paper. Six approaches to deal with the effects are proposed in the framework of
correlated -distribution. The atmospheric cooling rates calculated by these approaches are compared with that of
line-by-line (LBL) integration and then a best method to consider the temperature effect is presented. It is also pointed out
that although the effects of temperature on atmospheric absorption coefficients is of the second importance compared with
the pressure effects, the effects of temperature on atmospheric cooling rate are very complicated and must be considered in
the practical radiation computation.
