TI: Impacts of land water balance changes on terrestrial ecosystems

AB: While most climate change statistics cite temperature and precipitation changes separately, for eco-hydrology the most important metric is the net water balance, precipitation minus potential or actual evapotranspiration, the water available for ecosystem activity. This presentation will explore how accurately we know changes in the global terrestrial water balance, and discuss potential impacts on the terrestrial biosphere. The role of satellites in monitoring these trends will be addressed.
