Flow and transport in open channels with underlying porous beds is dominated by advection and diffusion. Geochemical
reactions (including sorption) and decay influence the transport phenomena. A reactive advection diffusion equation (ADE)
with first order decay is used in this paper to study flow and transport in a river bed and open channel. Aris-Moment
analysis is carried out for the two dimensional flow and transport. The Laplace transformation is applied to a reactive ADE
and is numerically inverted (Hosono, 1981) to obtain zeroth, first and second order moments of concentration in a river bed
and open channel. The model is verified against an analytical solution.
