Necessity to understand the high variability of N15 in forest soils increases till the uncertainty as to causes for
variability remains obscure. Papanicolaou et. al(2003) measured _YC13, _YN15 and C/N of forest and agriculture soils and
found statistically significant differences between the soils, but distribution of biogeochemical contained high variability.
Based on the uncertainty found in the Papanicolaou et. al(2003) study, it was realized that the need exists to better
understand the spatial variability of _YC13, _YN15 and C/N in the context of soil erosion. In this essay, the review of
various findings by different researchers has been discussed. Also, it has been stated here if the findings do or don_ft
clarify the causes for variability to some extent.
