TI: Hydrological cycle in California from 50-year 10km resolution dynamically downscaled

With a purpose of climate change study on regonal scale over California, over 56 years (1948 to present) of dynamical
downscaled analysis of NCEP/NCAR Reanalysis is now complete.
The Regional Spectral Model of ECPC at Scripps Institution of Oceanography was run with the Reanalysis as a forcing at 10km
resolution with hourly outputs. The comparsion with North American Regional Reanalysis shows that geographical patterns of
many parameters of the downscaled analysis agree well with
much more details than the NARR. Precipitation is overestimated in the analysis than the observation but the anomalies agree
well and the interannual variability is reasonable.
Additional analyses of the diurnal variations, annual cycle, and trend of hydrological parameters as well as the verification
with gridded and station observations are
discussed.
