AB: The Earth System Grid (ESG) is a U.S. DOE-sponsored R&D effort aimed at providing access to distributed, terascale global climate model data. ESG has developed and deployed a production Data Grid that provides access to nearly 100TB of distributed climate model data at multiple centers. In this presentation we will discuss the overall system, unexpected challenges, lessons learned, and plans for future capabilities.
