TI: Comparison of HST Observations of Jupiter's UV Aurora with Cassini Flyby IMF Measurements

AB: Jupiter's auroral emissions poleward of the main auroral oval have been interpreted as being due to magnetic reconnection at the dayside magnetopause. During the Cassini millennium flyby the Hubble Space Telescope took a series of images of Jupiter's UV aurora, while Cassini simultaneously took measurements of the interplanetary conditions. We compare images of the aurora with lagged measurements of the IMF and associated estimates of the magnetopause reconnection voltage in order to establish whether a relationship between the two exists.
