AB: In the 18 months since Saturn Orbit Insertion (SOI) in July 2004, Cassini has flown within 10 Rs of the planet on numerous occassions. These passes occurred at different distances and local times, and within a +/- 20 degrees range in latitude, allowing a good three-dimensional mapping of the magnetic field in the inner magnetosphere to be carried out. We report on our cumulative analysis of all of the available data and in particular of the vector data from the Fluxgate magnetometer. This analysis provides the first few harmonics of the internal field, and allows disentangling of the planetary magnetic field from that due to external sources. We compare the internal field model with past models based on flyby data. In addition, the current disk, the most important external contribution close to the planet, can be studied and its time evolution monitored. We also look for periodic terms in the magnetic field components, particularly relevant for their role in determining the rotation rate of the planet.
