TI: Three Dimensional Radon Transforms Study

AB: Radon transform (or tau-p transform) can be used to attenuate coherent noise. The normal Radon transforms usually are applied in two dimensional spaces. In this study, we show comparison of four different 3-D Radon transforms, which are in frequency domain and time domain. 3-D Radon transform can be considered as tau-p-q transform, where tau is time, p and q are ray parameters. Instead of processing seismic data in two-dimensional domain, 3-D Radon transforms are used to filter noise in three-dimensional domain. In frequency domain, 3-D conventional Radon transform and least square Radon transform are tested. In time domain, semblance based 3-D Radon transform and 3-D diversity slant stack are compared. From the synthetic examples, frequency domain Radon transforms have computing convenience. While time domain Radon transforms give better results in tau-p-q domain.
