AB: The Michigan Space Weather Modeling Framework (SWMF) has been developed to self-consistently couple models from various domains. SWMF simulations utilizing the global magnetosphere (BATSRUS), ionosphere, thermosphere (GITM), and inner magnetosphere (Rice Convection Model: RCM) have been used to study many idealized and storm conditions. The BATSRUS code is a single fluid code that solves for a mass density, thus the composition of the plasma is unknown. The RCM takes this mass density as one of the conditions at its inflow boundary and needs to make assumptions regarding the plasma composition. Here we will investigate the effect of the percentage of oxygen in the composition of the plasma at the inflow boundary of the RCM and its resulting influence on the rest of the global magnetosphere system. We will investigate the effect due to various fixed oxygen percentages as well as solar wind dependant percentages for several idealized events.
