TI: Low Frequency Fluctuations in the Vicinity of Moon

The magnetometer and electron reflectometer experiment on the Lunar Prospector spacecraft have detected low frequency waves
at ~ 1 Hz in the vicity of the Moon. These narrow band features are imposed on a broad spectrum of noise observed by
Lunar Prospector when it is sunward of the moon. The polarization properties of these waves are analyzed using the
three-dimensional covariance matrix method. We find that these waves are left circularly polarized. We present a detailed
analysis of the magnetic field and charged particle observations. We attempt to identify the mode of these fluctuations and
examine whether these waves are due to the ion beams associated with the wake, or pick-up ions, or the energetic electrons
associated with the Moon.
