Auroral medium frequency (MF) bursts are impulsive broadband non-thermal radio emissions observed at high latitudes in the
frequency range 1--4 MHz [LaBelle et al., 2005, doi:10.1029/2004JA010608]. Ground-based measurements have established that
Auroral Medium Frequency (MF) bursts occur near auroral substorm onset. Although there is evidence that they are associated
with > 10 keV electron precipitation, the generation mechanism of the bursts is unknown. The Fast Auroral SnapshoT (FAST)
Explorer satellite has made extensive observations of high frequency electric fields (0--2 MHz) in the auroral zones. We
examine FAST wave and particle observations to determine the association between bursts of MF emissions and precipitating
electrons.
