The Atmospheric Infrared Sounder (AIRS) currently on the EOS-Aqua platform retrieves ozone column and profile information
from nadir viewing of IR emittance in the 10 $\mu$m band. Using an updated channel selection, we report on comparisons of
ozone column with TOMS. We also examine AIRS sensitivity in retrieving tropospheric ozone columns, and present preliminary
validations with co-incident ozonesondes.
