A recently developed elastic fluid-flow model accounting for the physical phenomena associated with frequency-dependent
anomalous reflectivity at low seismic frequencies is discussed. Besides theoretical calculations, observations from field
and laboratory data indicate that the reflectivity is strongly related to the reservoir flow properties. An asymptotic
scaling of the frequency-dependent component of the reflection coefficient with respect to the frequency of the signal and
the reservoir fluid mobility has been obtained. This scaling incorporates the reservoir fluid mobility. The porous medium
tortuosity factor from Biot's equations has been linked to the relaxation time in dynamic Darcy's law.
