Waves with frequencies around the lower hybrid frequency
localized in density cavities, so called LHC:s, has been observed in space for more than ten years. These waves are generally
purely electrostatic, with no detectable enhancement in magnetic wave activity.
We have found waves on the gradient of density depletions that
seems to be electromagnetic. These EM-waves and the shape of the cavities we observe are similar to observations made in
laboratories.
We make case studies as well as a small statistical study to
investigate these waves, and verify that they are electromagnetic.
