The gravity signal contains information regarding changes in density at all depths and here we investigate its use
as a proxy for strain accumulation in complex fault networks. Using a complex, strike slip fault system, such as
the San Andreas Fault (SAF) network, and the seismicity modeled by Virtual California, we examine the rates of
dilatational highs and lows for fault segment that initiate in a prescribed time period. The dilatational gravity
signals are employed as they are well within in the range of portable instrumentation, and have the effects of
topography removed; thus ensuring that we examine only those changes from density perturbations at depth.
