TI: Modeling of Thin-Film Flows: Some Hydrologic Applications.

AB: A potential mechanism to describe a very fast transport through an unsaturated porous media is a development of thin-film flows in air-filled fractures. Such films can transport fluid and contaminants over significant distances in a very short time, especially comparing to a conventional plug flow model. We obtain certain analytical solutions for a distribution of a contaminant in an idealized thin film. Also, we generalized an earlier developed hydrological model that represents a thin-film as a chaotic flow with one type of solitory waves developing on a surface.
