AB:
Uncertainty Analysis typically requires a large number of model simulations. This is not feasible for
computatioally expensive models We discuss how optimization methods can reduce the required computational
efforts. We also discuss the use of new response surface optimizatio algorithms that can substantially reduce
the number of simulations required. A groundwater application will be discussed.
