We developed a new Lattice-Boltzmann (LB) model to simulate the two-dimensional advection-anisotropic
diffusion equation. We approximate the collision term using a multiple-relaxation-time (MRT) method. We
validated our model by comparing our simulations to analytical solutions for the cases of pure diffusion and
advective-diffusive transport in both isotropic and anisotropic media. Our MRT LB method is more stable than the
traditional Bhatnagar-Gross-Krook (BGK) LB model, which uses a single relaxation time.
