AB: The large field of view of Cloud Imaging and Particle Size (CIPS) experiment on the Aeronomy of Ice in the Mesosphere (AIM) mission allows images of the same region of space to be recorded on several consecutive orbits. These data are used to determine the absolute positions of features in the cloud scenes. From consecutive, orbit to orbit images of the same features, atmospheric transport velocities can be determined with an approximately 96 minute cadence set by the orbital period. We will show several examples and discuss the issues and uncertainties involved in the analysis.
