The important information contained in solar image data exists on many different time and spatial scales. This
makes multi-scale transforms such as wavelets and curvelets very appropriate tools. These and other multi-
scale transforms are used in several different types of image processing including image enhancement, feature
detection, deconvolution and noise reduction. We present an overview of multi-scale transforms and show some
of their applications to solar image data.
