AB: We present numerical results of three dimensional MHD model of an idealized active region field. The active region is initialized as a force-free dipole magnetic configuration with gravitationally stratified density and contains a loop with a higher density than its surroundings. This study represents an extension to the model of McLaughlin & Ofman (2007). We examine the impact of different density profiles of the loop on damping of kink waves by introducing a velocity pulse which models the impact of a flare on surrounding fields. We compare our results with a straight cylinder model of the loop which can be solved analytically. We study the resulting loop oscillations and compare our results with TRACE observations.
