AB: The Electromagnetic Ion Cyclotron (EMIC) wave is commonly observed in the Earth's magnetosphere. It is believed to be excited when a large number of particles are injected into the dusk side of the magnetosphere during substorms. Theoretical works have suggested that EMIC waves may contribute significantly to Relativistic Electron Precipitation (REP) by pitch-angle scattering. REP events are one of the important aspect of the radiation belt dynamics. We will be using a hybrid code simulation to study EMIC waves in dipole geometry, including instability, wave propagation, and wave-particle interaction. Up to date results will be shown in this poster.
