The THEMIS ground based observatory (GBOs) network
provides 20 new white-light all-sky imagers operating
at a 3-second cadence. Data from the first full season
(2006-7) provides an unprecedented opportunity to
study continent-scale auroral processes at high spatial
and temporal resolution. In addition, multi-spectral
imagers from other projects give us essential information
about auroral boundaries and precipitation characteristics.
Our focus for this work is on the azimuthal (longitudinal)
structure and dynamics of auroral regions and boundaries.
