The Space Weather Re-analysis (SWR) project has a goal of creating a
data-driven complete picture of the geospace environment over a whole
solar cycle. While this long-term goal will most likely not be
reached for many years, there has been significant progress in making
data-driven modeling results available for significant amounts of
time. For example, the Assimilative Mapping of Ionospheric
Electrodynamics (AMIE) technique was run for 14 years at a one-minute
cadence utilizing ground-based magnetometer measurements. The Global
Ionosphere-Thermosphere Model (GITM) has been run for about 8 years
utilizing the AMIE output, providing hourly specifications of the
upper atmosphere. This talk will discuss the issues in processing
vast amounts of data for this project, validating the results, and
some of the science that has resulted from undertaking this project.
