GRACE has provided estimates of vertically integrated
water storage anomalies at monthly intervals with a
useful spatial resolution of 300-500 km. While
interesting in isolation, these data are perhaps
most effectively applied in conjunction with other
complementary datasets. In this presentation, we
report on recent water balance studies combining
GRACE data with in situ measurements of soil
moisture, groundwater, and snow water equivalent.
