Aeromagnetics surveys have been employed in discovering a number of oil fields.In this study, various graphical methods of
aeromagnetic interpretation was employed in determining the depth to anomalous structure. The anomalies on which these
methods were tested were taken from the lower Benue trough of Nigeria. The parameter estimated in this study was the depth to the buried magnetic source or structure. It was discovered that the depth to the top of the structure or source lies between 0.55Km and 9.20Km. The magnetic anomalies over parts of this trough could be explained by the existence of the intrusive
bodies and elavation of crystalline basement. This work reconfirms the usefulness of some of the graphical methods of
aeromagnetic interpretations especially when applied to isolated and non-interfering anomalies. Depths estimates from these
work can be used as input for more detailed investigation of the anomalous bodies using more quantitative approaches.
