The THORPEX (Observing-system Research and predictability experiment) is an international research program
supported by the WMO. Its primary objective is to improve the weather forecasts to the 2 weeks range. One
important part of the THORPEX is the TIGGE (THORPEX Interactive Grand Global Ensemble). The TIGGE brings
the cooperation of several international ensemble data providers. The CPTEC/INPE is a data provider, and
several tests have been performed to assure that the CPTEC will be able to send its ensemble data to the TIGGE
archiving centers. These tests met the requirements.
