The National Geophysical Data Center's Coastal Relief Project involves gridding bathymetric data from NOS Hydrographic Surveys and other sources, combining this with US land topography grids from the USGS, to create a series of 1 degree grids at a 3 arc-second resolution in US coastal areas. This data is available on GEODAS CD/DVD sets with software for combining, translating and sub-sampling grids for users.

Each Coastal Relief Model CD/DVD contains a series of grids covering the area on the CD/DVD. Each of these CD/DVD grids is a block of 1 degree by 1 degree. The files are named according to a NGDC Id file naming scheme.
