Geodas Coastline Extractor can be used for viewing and extracting to file several supplied GEODAS Coastline Files.
MS Windows:
Start -> Programs -> GEODAS -> Coastline Extractor
UNIX Xwindows:
Type geodas at the xterm prompt to start GEODAS Launch Pad. Then click
on the Coastline Extractor icon.
Once Coastline Extractor map appears, use the File -> Plot Coastlines... menu to choose a specific coastline and resolution to plot. Or you can use the View menu to zoom to the general area for which you are interested. The Choose Coastline and Resolution Dialog allows you to choose between several GEODAS Coastline Files and also to choose the resolution. The dialog will always start with the default coastline and resolution chosen by the software. This coastline and resolution will be what you see on the resulting map.
For MS Windows the area for saving coastline data is the current plot. For UNIX Xwindows, use the Select Area menu to select an area for saving coastline data to a file. You can use your mouse or a dialog to choose this area, which can be a rectangular box or a polygon of points.
First you will use the Choose Coastline File Format Dialog to determine the output format for the saved file. Then use the File... Save As Dialog to determine file name and location. It you don't put an extension on your file name, the standard extention for that format will be appended to your file name.
