Use this Standard Open Dialog to find and load the GEODAS Data Files you wish to plot. This can be data from various GEODAS databases on CD/DVD sets, either GEODAS Data Search and Retrieval downloads or files on the CD. These GEODAS databases include NOS Hydrographic Surveys, Marine Trackline Geophysics, or GEODAS Gridded Databases.
For grid data you can open data grids (.g98 or .g03 or .asc), data density grids (.den) (each cell contains number of original data values), or grid-radius grids (.rad) (each cell contains distance to closest original data value).
For GEODAS downloaded Search data the file you want is named [Search Key].mgn; this will give you access to the actual data you downloaded as a [Search Key].a77, [Search Key].a93, [Search Key].b93 or [Search Key].xyz file, or the filename you chose when downloading. Or you may plot individual surveys downloaded as separate files [NGDC Number].a77, [NGDC Number].a93, [NGDC Number].b93 or [NGDC Number].xyz.
Note: NOS surveys can be plotted directly from the GEODAS Hydrographic Surveys CD. Marine Trackline Geophysics data cannot be plotted directly from the GEODAS CD; you must use the Download Task in the GEODAS Data Search and Retrieval application.
Click on the Files of type: drop-down list and choose the file type you are looking for, or if you saved your data with a non-standard file extension, choose All Files (*.*).
