Printing Hydro-Plot Maps

Although Hydro-Plot itself does not have printing capabilities, you can easily print your screen plots using screen capture and image editing software such as Microsoft Paint.

The following example uses Windows Screen Capture and Microsoft Paint, both of which come with Windows 95/98/NT/2000.

  1. Create your map in Hydro-Plot. (Hint: If you want the legend to be included in your image, simply drag it into the plot map window.) Be sure that the map window is the active window by clicking on the title bar.
  2. Screen-Capture the map. To capture the map window hold down the Alt key and press Print Screen. This sends the map image to the Windows Clipboard.
  3. Open Microsoft Paint. Start -> Programs -> Accessories .> Paint. (Or use your preferred image editing software).
  4. Paste map image into Microsoft Paint. Use menu Edit -> Paste.
  5. Print directly from Microsoft Paint. Use menus Page Setup… and Print Preview to set up your print image. Then use menu File -> Print.
