Grid Database Dialog

Use the Grid Database Dialog to choose the database(s) you wish to use in creating your grid with Design-a-Grid. You may choose from among all installed GEODAS Grid Databases. If you are using more than one grid database, be sure to select them in the order that you want them processed. Where grid databases overlap, cells inserted from a database will be replaced with cells from the next database in the "Use" list.

Available Grid Databases: Shows your installed GEODAS Grid Databases from which you can choose. Note that some grid databases are not compatible with each other. For example, grids with cells sizes of 2 minutes and 2.5 minutes cannot be combined because Grid Translator does not interpolate new cell values; it will only subset from the installed grids.

Grid Databases to Use (as ordered): Place the grid database(s) you wish to use to construct your grid here. Note that your grid will be built by processing these databases in the order in which they appear. Grid cell values from databases later in the list will replace values from databases earlier in the list (empty grid cell values will not replace non-empty values from earlier databases). So if you wanted to replace values of database A with cells from database B, you would put database A before database B. (This would only be useful if database B did not cover the entire Design-a-Grid area; otherwise you would not bother using database A at all.)

Arrow Buttons: Use the single right arrow to move a (selected) Grid Database from the Available Grid Databases list to the Grid Databases to Use list. Simply select the databases and move them over in the order you wish to have them processed. The double right arrow will move all the databases at once. The single left arrow can be used to remove databases from the "Use" list and the double left arrow can be used to remove them all.
