Set-up Instructions

1. Make sure that you are using the appropriate platform and browser. Please refer to the software requirements.
2. Make sure that you install the DjVu plug-in.
3. Make sure Javascript is enabled in your browser.
4. Read the platform-specific instructions (Windows, Mac, and Unix) for installing and activating the ASTAware search engine before you use it.
5. Read the instructions for changing CD-ROMs.
6. To use the Digital Archive without the search engine, insert any CD-ROM other than CD-ROM 0, and open start.htm in your browser.
7. To use the Digital Archive with the ASTAware search engine, install the ASTAware search engine (one-time installation only), run the search engine, insert any CD-ROM other than CD-ROM 0, and open index.htm in your browser.
