G. A. Scanlon received the B.S. degree and the M.S. degree in geology and the M.S. degree from The Naval Postgraduate School in acoustics/oceanography.
His research has focused on inverse techniques at mid-frequencies to deduce geoacoustic properties of the bottom. He is currently stationed at HMS Warrier in London, U.K., and is involved in joining British/U.S. shallow-water operation.
