R. C. Agarwal received the degree in electronics and communication engineering from Roorkee University, India, in 1973 and the M.Tech. degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.

After graduation, he joined the Electronic and Radar Development Establishment, Bangalore, and worked in the field of display systems. Since 1977, he has been working at the Naval Physical and Oceanographic Laboratory (NPOL), Cochin, India, and has led many important defense projects to successful completion. Presently, at NPOL, he is Head of the Signal Processing Division. His current interests include DOA and spectrum estimation, detection and estimation, and signal processing.
