Christopher G. Fox (A'88) received the B.S. degree in geology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, in 1974, the M.S. degree in marine geology from Brown University, Providence, RI, in 1976, and the Ph.D. degree in marine geology and geophysics from Columbia University, New York, in 1984.

He has worked within the federal government since 1977, with the U.S. Geological Survey and the U.S. Naval Oceanographic Office. Since 1985 he has been a Principal Investigator with NOAA's VENTS research program. His research interests include seafloor acoustic imaging, statistical terrain modeling, submarine volcano monitoring, and deep-sea hydrothermal systems.
