John M. Ozard received the B.S. degree in physics and mathematics from the University of Western Ontario, ON, Canada, in 1963, and the Ph.D. degree in geophysics from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, BC, Canada, in 1970.
From 1972 to 1974, he was employed at the Institute of Geological Sciences, London, U.K. From 1974 to 1995, he was at the Defence Research Establishment Pacific, Victoria, BC. Since 1995, he was employed at Esquimalt Defence Research Detachment of Defence Research Establishment Atlantic, Ottawa, ON, Canada. His research interests include digital signal processing, underwater acoustic propagation, underwater ambient noise, and geoacoustic properties of the underwater waveguide boundaries.
