William J. Zehner, R. Lee Thompson; Methods of estimating allowable motion perturbations in side-scan sonar systems, IEEE J. Oceanic Eng., vol. 21, pp. 245 - 255, July 1996.

R. Lee Thompson (M'94-A'95) received the B.S. degree with honors in ocean engineering from Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, in 1989 and received the M.S. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 1995.

He has been employed by Coastal Systems Station Dahlgren Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City, FL since 1990. He has contributed to the development of several unmanned underwater vehicle systems through his work in vehicle sensor fusion, high-resolution sonar-signal processing, and sonar simulation. His primary focus has been in the areas of sonar-signal classification techniques, stave-level sonar simulations, and broadband array processing.

He is a member of Tau Beta Pi.
