W. Kenneth Stewart, Dezhang Chu, Sandipa Malik, Steve Lerner, Hanumant Singh; Quantitative seafloor characterization using a bathymetric sidescan sonar, IEEE J. Oceanic Eng., vol. 19, pp. 599 - 610, October 1994.
Steve Lerner (M'85-S'86-M'87) received the B.S. degree in computer engineering from Lehigh University in 1983 and the M.S. degree in electrical engineering, also from Lehigh University, in 1987.Since 1990 he has worked for the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution as a Research Engineer within the Deep Submergence Laboratory. He has been involved in the development of real-time sonar acquisition, processing, and modeling systems. He has also developed a real-time 3D scientific visualization program for viewing sidescan bathymetric data. His research interests are in real-time multisensor integration, modeling, and 3D visualizatiou for applications in telepresence, autonomous vehicles, and seafloor characterization.
