Kurt Metzger, Jr. (S'65-M'65) received the B.S.E. degree in 1963, the M.S.E. degree in 1965, and the Ph.D. degree in 1983, all in electrical engineering and all from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He is presently an Associate Research Scientist at the Communications and Signal Processing Laboratory, Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science of the University of Michigan where his work has centered on making acoustic multipath measurements over long ranges (1-4 Mm) in the ocean. He is responsible for implementing the hardware and software used to make these measurements. His research interests include digital signal processing, ocean acoustic propagation, efficient algorithms, and hardware and software design.
