Peter M. Schultheiss (M'86-SM'90) was born in Munich, Germany, in 1924. He received the B.E. and Ph.D. degrees from Yale University, New Haven, CT, in 1945 and 1952, respectively.Since 1947 he has been on the faculty of Yale University, where he is currently a Professor of Electrical Engineering. His research interests have centered on problems in detection and estimation theory with recant emphasis on the use of sensor arrays for the localization of radiating sources.
