Xavier A. Zabal received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Miami, Coral Gables, FL, in 1972 and 1973, respectively.
He has contributed to the areas of propagation modeling, scattering, and system performance prediction. He is currently a Principal Scientist for the Naval and Maritime Systems group of Hughes Aircraft, San Diego, CA. His research interests include active sonar and the development of signal processing concepts for detection and communication in dispersive channels.
