Pat S. DeLeonibus received the B.S. and M.S. degrees from New York University, New York City, in 1952 and 1955, respectively.From 1954 to 1975 he was with the Naval Oceanographic Office where he conducted research on air-sea interactions and waves. He joined NOAA in 1975. His research interests lie in air-sea interactions and ocean waves, particularly since the launching of Seasat.
