David B. Butler studied acoustical and semiconductor engineering at RCA Institute, New York, NY, and engineering management courses at Sterling Institute, Washington, DC.He was with the process instrumentation industry eight years as Electro-chemist, and the Nonwoven industry for twelve years as Pilot Plant Manager. He has extensive patent experience, and in 1980 founded the Equipment Development Laboratory at the University of Rhode Island, Kingston. Current project participation includes Development of the In Situ Vane (ISV) system, MANOP program's In Situ Pore Water Sampler, Gulf Stream Mass Transport studies, and the Deep Ocean Simulation Facility.
