Richard L. Moose was born in Canton, OH, on December 31, 1938. He received the B.S.E.E. degree from Ohio University, Athens, in 1964, the M.S.E.E. degree from the University of California at Berkeley in 1966, and the Ph.D. degree from Duke University, Durham, NC, in 1971.From 1964 to 1965 he worked with the Western Electric Company, from 1966 to 1969 with Bell Telephone Laboratories, NC, and from 1971 to 1972 with the Naval Underwater Sound Labs, New London, CT. Since 1972 he has served as Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Blacksburg, where his interests are in estimation and control theory.
